ow to Compliment a Czech Woman: 7 Genuine Ways
“Spearstate how to compliment a Czech woman with genuine, culture-savvy phrases she’ll truly appreciate — real tips inside now.”
I still can hear the first compliment I threw to a woman in Czech. I was in a rather small caf of the city of Brno, sat in a gondola, with a cup of coffee, convinced I would make a lucky hit with the adage I had been practicing on the way here.
It did not work, as she gave me a half polite smile and went on reading her book.
Lesson learned. That awkward little minutes prompted me to flip around the internet until I could put together a comprehensive, practical list of Do’s and Don’ts if you ever want to compliment a Czech girlor at least have the rubik to give it a shot. Years (and lots more coffee) later, here we are.
Here’s the truth that no one tells you in advance: Czechs, generally speaking, are not very prone to excessive praise. Unlike American and Latin American dating cultures, for example, where compliments seem to come in dozens, the way we talk to people is more restrained, more straightforward, and frankly, less tolerant of cheesy, corny expressions.
Czka doesn’t read a huge, exaggerated compliment as a sign of adoration.
She reads it as a sign of deception, or even (God forbid!) a message delivered a thousand times too often (regardless of how many times you actually said it). It’s a kind of, this is how I see flattery in certain cultures, we’re got a firehose of it.
It’s just way down in Czech it’s more like you better not go wrong with your garden hose. On target whatever deliberate and a lot more effective for it. So the golden rule, before we get to actual sentences, is basic: specificity trumps grandeur every time. You gotta see something actual. Speak to something good. Convey it.
Compliments That Actually Land
On Appearance
Physical compliments okay, but make them specific, not just generic. “You’re beautiful” is fine, but it doesn’t stand out.
Now, juxtapose it with “I really love how your smile causes your entire face to light up.”
Now you’ve mentioned a trait that only one woman can be, rather than the woman who’s standing near you.
Your faces tells the stories in your heads. Always know what is it you are thinking.
That looks really good on you. You’ve got an innate good taste you just don’t have to try to make it work…
Honest? This is where you’ll be amazed at how effective compliments are.
From my point of view, Czech women respond so much more positively to “what kind of person you are” type compliments than they do to “what you look like” type compliments.
Basically, compliments about how clever fun independent or intelligent they are mean far more than compliments about how attractive they are.
You’re very clever -I like it that you don’t just accept everything I say. You have a dry sense of humor and I am definitely on board for that.
I’m proud of your independence.
That (three) really hits one home.
It’s simply a part of Czech culture to hold independencies in high regard to be told that one’s independencies are an appreciated commodity would actually be a compliment.
This is where you get a real chance to shine. Anyone can say something nice in English.
To bother to say it in Czech even if badly demonstrates that you do care enough to make an effort.
Believe me, the butchered pronunciation will go down a lot easier than a pristine English line.

Pronunciation
You got nice eyes had two pairs of eyes to stare at you you have beautiful eyes. Is a slightly more complicated of mamash.
You’re very kind je vous envie je vous envie. Je vous envie.
Is so kind. See veel-meh mee- laah what a beautiful smile you’ve got you have a lovely smile. Ability to vote. Weights of carnosity.
A system of weighting based on sight mongolism of the postmortem section of human tissue.
You’re smart: when a lady seems a little dazed and unsure of herself, mostly a beautiful oneshe has a lot to protect.
You’re using indirect logic and common sense; without realizing it, you’re thinking a woman should be smart, like everyone else is.
Are very clever see khit-rah which means where or in which place.
Recognized as a sound signify all local and position expressions. I enjoy being with you.
I was happy with you If this is not the meaning you wanted to convey, can you tell me what is? This will be a two-disc set.
● Fair warning: the accent will likely be awful at first. Mine waspretty much, still is to be quite honestwith you.
● But that’s kind of the point. When a Czech woman hears you speak, she’s not expecting certain to be just right: she’s appreciating your effort, and effort goes a long way over every language barrier.
● Could have the perfect compliment ready and can still blow it when you deliver it. Here are some things I thought I knew when I first started. Avoid pouring on the compliments.
● Surfacing too many negative comments and compliments in the first five minutes of meeting a woman makes you sound pathetic instead of charmingyou’re pressing for a sale.
● Allow occasional positive comments to emerge in the same way you might think something and say itjust waves.
● Tone your compliment to hers.
● If she’s joking with a bit of sarcasm then a formal, stiff compliment will seem odd. Test the waters and then adapt. Say it once and truly mean it. Reduplicating a compliment does not magnify it. It just tilts it into the realm of rote hollow falderal.
● A few landmines worth sidestepping, some of which I learned the hard way:
● Making comparisons to other nationalities. “You’re so much prettier than [other nationality] women” might sound like a compliment in your head, but rings to practically every woman you say it to as backhanded and a little tone-deaf.
● Too many sexual comments, mainly early in the relationship.
I know this seems self-evident, but some people might not realizeshe’ll find this infinitely more offensive than charming. Generic pick-up lines.
anything that has a recycled flavor.
You probably say to your friend, you would be uncomfortable saying.
Backhanded compliments. “You’re quite intelligent for a person who studied fine arts.” that’s not a compliment but instead a verbal slap dressed up in compliment clothes.
Caf-in-Brno experience was the last straw that led me to the conclusion: if I ever have to choose between the two the authentic one always wins. In other words you don’t need a script nor memorize lines from a dating website. All you have to do is to be yourself; spot something unique about her, state it in a very simple way and show that you mean those words.
It’s the Czech women who soon do not require a romantic suitor who will charm and please them with the eloquence. They value more those who will demonstrate a bit of attention, be honest in the first place and not perform just for the camera.
Persuasion is not your major strength anyway and if your speaking skills do not meet the Czech level at the beginning that is quite okay. My pronunciation is still not at par. It is more of a show up and do part, than perfection. That’s how the real compliments hit.
